Welcome to Kaabia, our furnished apartment rental platform! We attach great importance to the protection of your personal data and to your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you use our platform. By accessing our services, you accept the terms of this policy.  

We undertake to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation and any other applicable data-protection law. 

1. Who are we? 

Our platform is a furnished apartment rental service developed in Africa. We connect owners and tenants to facilitate short-, medium- and long-term rentals.

2. What data do we collect? 

We collect several types of data depending on how you use our Kaabia platform:  

2.1 Data provided directly by the user 

  • When registering: last name, first name, email address, telephone number, password. 

  • When booking: Dates of stay, rental preferences, reviews, comments, billing address, payment details (via our secure provider). 

  • When publishing a listing: description of the property, photos, contact details, location. 

  • When communicating with our customer service: any information you voluntarily share. 

2.2 Data collected automatically 

  • IP address, browser type, device used, browsing history on Kaabia (pages visited, connection time, etc.). 

  • Cookies and similar technologies to improve the user experience. 

2.3 Third-party data 

If you log in through a third-party service (Google, Facebook…), we may receive certain information from these platforms. 

3. Why do we collect this data? 

We use your data to: 

Manage your account and allow you to access our services. 

Facilitate bookings and payments between tenants and owners. 

Improve the user experience through cookies and browsing analytics. 

Ensure the security of the platform and fight fraud. 

Communicate with you (confirmation emails, alerts, promotional offers, support). 

Comply with legal obligations (invoicing, identity verification…). 

We never resell your personal data to third parties. 

 

4. Who do we share your data with? 

We share your data only with: 

  • Payment providers (e.g. payment aggregators) to secure transactions. 

  • Competent authorities if the law requires us to. 

  • Analytics and marketing tools (Google Analytics, emailing) to improve our services.

We keep your data for as long as necessary to provide you with our services, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. 

  • Account data: kept for as long as your account is active. 

  • Booking data: kept for 10 years for accounting reasons. 

  • Cookies: stored for a maximum of 12 months, depending on your choice. 

You can request the deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).
